The 4th Kitchen Experimental

Hehehehe... kidnap recipe kat blog Kak Aishah, yg bertajuk Clafouti, which was claimed to be so easy to make. http://ionoi-monday.blogspot.com/2007/12/this-is-my-clafouti.html

The experiment was conducted with chef Hanna *si tukang kacau and tukang pecah telur*. This is when I found out how the vanilla essence was derived after tired of looking non-alcohol vanilla essence all over supermarkets and stores nearby. The vanilla bean or the wood where the vanilla was grown has to be soaked with alcohol to get the extract. Ohh!! No wonder it has significant amount of alcohol written at those tiny bottles. FDA requirement of minimum of 35% alcohol mixture for it to be labeled as "Pure Vanilla Essence". There's also non-alcoholic vanila essence where the beans were soaked with glicerin instead *tapi kalau blajar chemistry... glicerin tu bukan glycol ke?.. anak beranak alcohol...*, which is called "Natural Vanilla Flavour". More info at http://www.vanilla.com/html/facts-extracts.html

Since I couldn't find the Natural Vanilla Flavour in the market so I used Maple syrup as a substitute... and letak baking powder instead of using self-raising flour.... and jengg..jengg..jenggg....

Mcm ni la rope dia jadinye... *sgt takjub so tak sampai hati nk ambil gambar after it was fresh taken from oven* mmg berbeza sunggu dari rope Clafouti dlm recipe. Nevertheless, the taste was yummielicious!!.. walaupun tak cantik. Betulll.... tak caya tanya Hanna and Nenet.... heheheh... *masuk bakul sendri angkat lah...*
